The Pandavan Para that is home to an ancient temple is l aocated at Chengannur within the Pathanamthitta district. it's located close to "Noottuvar  Para" named once the Kauravas pictured in the epic Mahabharata.

Myth

Myth says that the Pandavas, throughout their exile, resided at Pandavanpara and also the brothers accustomed provide worship at the close temples. The knoll has some remnants which the locals go with the keep of Pandavas.

A temple at the top is devoted to the Pandavas and has Lord avatar because the presiding deity. There are many curious rock structures like those formed sort of a frog (called 'thavalapara' in native parlance) and just like the device maddalam ('maddalapara' in local parlance).

Even today, many signs of the Pandavas living here can be seen on the rocks. There are many attractions such as Pangal and Elephant Shaped Rocks.

Conclusion

The highest rocks give us a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding area. The rock temple is surrounded by dense trees and verdant greenery. It's a nice place to spend the a dayout.
